Meet the Owner
Joanna Guzman, owner of Brave Doula Birth Services. Married to her high school sweetheart for 19 years and mother to 2 adults and 3 teenagers!
Certified Perinatal Doula, Certified Postpartum doula, Evidence Based Birth® Instructor/Childbirth Educator, Body Ready Method® Certified Birth Professional/ Teacher Trainer, VBAC Specialized Doula, Certified Placenta Specialist, and Midwife Assistant/Student Midwife.
Trainings include: how to handle postpartum hemorrhage, shoulder dystocia, breech presentation, and Spinning Babies.
CPR/BLS & NRP Certified.
Joanna's life purpose is to serve women, and what better way to do it than in this capacity, the most special and memorable time of a woman's/ family's life!
What is a Doula?
A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and educational support to a mother before, during, and shortly after childbirth to help her achieve a safe, memorable, most satisfying, and empowered birth experience possible. A doula creates a calm environment and supports you in your right to make decisions about your body and your baby. Doulas use advocacy techniques and can also enhance communication between parents and providers.
